A poster is a large printed piece of paper or material designed to be displayed on a wall or surface. In Optimalprint, it will allow you to personalize it and upload your own design.

What is a birth poster and a design poster?

  • Birth Poster

A Birth Poster is a personalized artistic baby illustration that adapts on a scale of 1:1 to your child's actual length at birth. It serves as a unique and timeless reminder of how your child was when you first met.

You can choose between one and three babies, and for each of them, you can customize the name, length, date, and time at birth.

Our posters are printed on high-quality paper, not to only look amazing on your wall but to last a lifetime. Depending on the 2 sizes we offer, the posters are printed on:

  • Matte paper 200 gsm card stock - Solo Baby and Baby Duo posters 50x70 cm (19.7”x27.6”)

  • Silk paper 170 gsm card stock - Baby Trio poster 70x100 cm (39.4”x27.6”)

Does the poster come with the frame?

Our frames come in both wood and metal options, ensuring durability and style to suit your preferences. Whether you prefer classic black, pristine white, sleek silver, or elegant gold, we strive to provide options that align with your aesthetic vision.

Customization Options

You have the option to add a frame to your poster. Our frames are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, featuring glass to protect your poster from dust, fingerprints, and other environmental factors. This ensures your poster remains in pristine condition for years to come.

When ordering a poster with a frame, we provide flexibility to cater to your specific needs. Depending on the size of your poster, you'll have the choice to order it ready-to-hang or as separate items. This allows you to customize your order according to your space and preferences.

Unfortunately, we don't sell only a frame; the frame can only be purchased as an add-on to your poster.

Does the Baby Poster come with a frame?

Unfortunately, we don't offer a frame for our Baby Poster.


Will I get my frame and posters mounted together?

You can now choose to order your poster ready-to-hang.

When purchasing a personalized poster with a wooden frame, you will now be given the option to receive your poster already mounted in the wooden frame chosen. A prompt will appear once you add your item to your basket if your order is eligible for this option, as shown below:

Note: Poster discounts DO NOT apply to frames. Frames that are sent as separate items will not get the discount available for mounted posters.

1. Will I get a discount if I ordered a mounted poster and a poster with a frame?

  • Any additional discount for the mounted poster will NOT be applicable on a "poster with a frame" item.

2. What are the frames that you mount the poster to?

  • At the moment, we only mount posters on wooden frames.

3. Is this option available for studio selection posters if I add a frame?

  • You will not be getting a prompt but it will automatically be mounted if the chosen frame is wooden regardless of the size.

4. What will the final print look like if I do not purchase a frame?

  • You will receive only a poster which is a 170 gsm silk paper poster.

As we have upgraded our website, we do the possible ways to make it convenient for our customers. Therefore, the poster and frame are automatically mounted.

Despite it being mounted together however discount offered on the website only applies to the posters and not to the frames.


How to edit a poster using the deign editors?

Designing a personalized poster with our easy-to-use editor is a simple and enjoyable process. Follow these steps to create a stunning poster that meets your needs:

  1. Select Your Poster Type

    • Begin by choosing your desired poster type on the product page. You will be automatically redirected to the design editor.

  2. Explore the Design Editor

    • Our design editor is intuitive and straightforward. It features the following main categories on the left side:

      • Gallery: Upload your images directly from your device or from Google Photos, Facebook, Instagram, or Dropbox. Ensure your images are high resolution (DPI over 300) for the best quality.

      • Layouts: Choose from various design layouts, including collages.

      • Formats: Customize your poster by selecting:

        • Orientation: Landscape/Horizontal, Portrait/Vertical, or Square

        • Size: Multiple size options available

        • Frame: Option to add a frame

  3. Design Your Poster

    • Center Canvas: This is where your poster design will appear.

      • Click on the canvas to select and place your uploaded images.

      • Drag and move images around to perfect the layout and ensure no important parts are cut off.

      • Utilize the zoom feature to adjust the focus of your images.

  4. Editing Tools

    • When you click on an added image, a set of editing tools will appear above the design:

      • Undo: Revert the last action

      • Redo: Reinstate the last undone action

      • Zoom Mode: Zoom in or out of the image

      • Rotate: Rotate the image to your preferred orientation

      • Flip: Flip the image horizontally or vertically

      • Crop Tool: Crop the image to fit your design perfectly

  5. Finalize Your Poster

    • Top Bar: View a summary of your chosen product specifications.

    • Top-Right Corner: Options to "Save to drafts", "Add to basket", and "Preview" your design.

    • Bottom-Right Corner: Another access to the zoom feature for convenience.

Saving and Finalizing Your Design

  1. Save Your Work

    • If you need to save your design and continue later, click "Exit" and then "Save and exit" to save it to your drafts. Your drafts are located in the upper right corner next to the shopping cart on the home page.

  1. Preview Your Poster

    • Always check the preview before finalizing your order to ensure all changes are saved and everything looks perfect.

  1. Handle Errors

    • If you receive an error message, follow the instructions provided to resolve the issue (typically related to image problems). Note that the maximum image size is 30 MB, and we support JPEG and PNG formats.

How do I edit a Birth Poster?

Creating a personalized Birth Poster has never been simpler:

  1. Choose the Quantity: Whether it's for a single baby, twins, or even triplets, select the appropriate option.

  2. Select Direction: Decide which way your little one(s) will face, ensuring a perfect depiction of their adorable features.

  3. Pick Illustration Style: Opt for either a charming line drawing or a delightful sketch style to capture the essence of your bundle(s) of joy.

  4. Customize Background: Select from a spectrum of background colors to complement your nursery decor or personal preference.

  5. Add Personal Details: Infuse your poster with cherished details such as the baby's name, date and time of birth, weight, and length, adding a touch of sentimental value.

  6. Preview Your Creation: Take a moment to review your customized poster, ensuring every detail is just as you envisioned.

  7. Secure Your Order: Once satisfied, simply add your masterpiece to the basket and proceed to checkout, eagerly anticipating the arrival of your unique keepsake.


Forcing Your Image to Fit the Design

To achieve the best results, it's important to ensure your entire image fits within the design area of your chosen design format. If part of the image is outside the design, that portion will not be printed.

Recommendations:

  1. Choose the Right Format/Size: We highly recommend selecting a poster format or size that accommodates your entire image. This will ensure your picture is fully displayed without any parts being cut off.

  2. Adjusting Your Image: If only a small part of the image extends beyond the design area, you can adjust it to fit within the design. However, please note that forcing the image to fit may affect its quality. Always check the preview to ensure the image looks as you desire before placing your order.

How to Adjust Your Image:

  1. Hold the "Shift" Key: On your keyboard, hold down the "Shift" key.

  2. Click and Drag: Using the left mouse button, click on the corner of the image that extends outside the print area. Drag the corner towards the design until the entire image fits within the poster.
