File upload limit

At Optimalprint, the maximum file size for uploads across all products is 30 MB. Ensure your files meet this limit to avoid issues during the upload process.

Additionally, photos must adhere to specific dimensions. The maximum allowed dimension is 10,000 pixels, formatted as width x height (e.g., 10000x5625 pixels).

Example of allowable size:

  • Allowed size: 10000x5625 pixels

Example of photo size that will fail in uploading:

  • Photos larger than 10,000 pixels in any dimension will fail to upload.

How to Check Photo Size:

  • PC or Desktop: Right-click on the image file, select "Properties," and navigate to "Image Dimensions."

  • Phone: Access "Image Info" or "Photo Info" to view the resolution or dimensions.

Ensure your photos meet these requirements for a smooth uploading experience.

Can I order custom-size prints?

Custom-size prints are not available at Optimalprint. Our products can only be purchased in sizes listed in the product catalog on our website.

Where can I find photos I have already uploaded?

All photos that are not used for the creation of a digital photo book are deleted when you exit the online editing tool. To review these photos, you must download them again.

How can I add special characters to the text?

To include special characters, type the word in a word processor or text editor where you can add accents or different letters. Copy and paste this text into the editor on our site. After saving, preview the card to ensure proper display. If you see a rectangular shape instead of the character, it means the font does not support it, and it will print as a rectangle. You can try changing the font style, but if the issue persists, printing the character may not be possible.

Can I recover deleted photos?

Once you click "delete" on an image, it is permanently deleted, and we cannot recover deleted images.

Can I change my paper options after my order has been placed?

Changing Paper Options: Once your order is placed, it is not possible to change the paper or cardstock type due to cost variations. However, you can cancel your order within 30 minutes of purchase for an automatic refund. After cancellation, you can reorder from your Order History and select a different paper option.

Envelope Policy: We provide white envelopes that match the size of your cards.

Can I edit a design saved in drafts?

If you wish to edit a card saved in Drafts, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to "Your drafts" in "Your account."

  2. Locate the draft you wish to edit and proceed to make changes to the order.

  3. Please note that changes made within the Drafts section will not automatically update similar products in your cart.

  4. To edit a product already in your cart, go to the cart and click "Edit" below the product image.

How can I upload images?

Uploading and customizing images is simple. Follow these steps:

  1. Select the product you wish to order and click "Personalise." This will redirect you to our editor platform.

  2. On your PC or desktop, locate the "Photos" section on the left-hand side of the editing platform.

  3. Click "Choose file" to upload images from your computer, smartphone, tablet, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, or Dropbox.

  4. Once uploaded, you can adjust the size, position, and scale of the photo to suit your preferences.

Will a blurry photo print well?

To ensure your image prints well, we recommend uploading sharp and bright images with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch). You can check the image quality by zooming in 3x; if the image remains sharp and clear, it will print well.

Find out more about uploading photos HERE.

How do I know if the order went through?

To confirm if your order was successfully placed:

  1. Check your email for an order confirmation from Optimalprint.

  2. You can also view your order in your Optimalprint profile under "My orders."

If your order status indicates "payment interrupted," your order was not processed, and you have not been charged. For more information, please see HERE.

Can I enlarge and print my older photos?

Optimalprint does not offer a photo restoration or enlargement service. You can upload any digital photo to our cards, posters, calendars, and photo books, and our software will indicate if the picture is suitable for printing. However, we are unable to optimize or enhance small physical photos for printing.

How can I speed up the photo upload process?

Photo uploads may take longer than 1-2 minutes, depending on your device's internet connection. For faster uploads, we recommend connecting to Wi-Fi.

If you encounter issues where a photo upload stalls:

  • Check for missing photos within your book. Return to your book and review all pages.

  • If a photo appears highly pixelated or blurry, it likely failed to upload. Please remove and replace the photo with a higher-quality version.

How do I upload images from my Mac?

If you're using a Mac with the "Photos" software, you cannot drag images directly from the software to your web browser for uploading into your product. Instead, follow these steps:

  1. Select all photos you want to use in "Photos."

  2. Drag these selected photos from "Photos" to a Finder window.

  3. This action will export the images to Finder. Depending on the number of images, it may take a few seconds to a minute.

  4. Once the photos are in Finder, you can easily upload them to your photo product as you would with any other photo.

Can I crop my photos in the online editor?

We do not offer cropping of photos due to a significant reason: When you crop a photo, the retained portion gets enlarged. Zooming in on part of the photo can make it grainy or blurry, which lowers the overall print quality.

Do you check the quality of the photos?

As a self-service platform, we do not check the quality of photos before printing. We trust our customers to verify photo quality before placing their orders.

If you realize an error after ordering:

  • You can cancel your design within 30 minutes of placing the order from the "Your orders" section and edit the order to place it again with the correct details.

How do I know my photo has good quality?

For the best outcome, please follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid using photos downloaded from Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Instagram, and Facebook, as they may be lower in quality. Whenever possible, use original photos.

  • If using a photo sent by someone else, ask them to send the file via email, Google Photos, or Dropbox to avoid file compression.

  • Submit the original photo from your digital camera, captured in the highest resolution (pixels/DPI). Our system will indicate if the image quality is 'Good', 'OK', or 'Bad' upon upload. The minimum requirement for sharp printing on cards is 300 DPI.

  • Ensure subjects are well-lit during photography. Natural light is ideal; otherwise, adjust brightness to ensure clarity.

  • Be mindful of motion blur, which may not be apparent in resolution checks.

  • Supported formats: .jpg, .png

Note: These guidelines apply to the new platform (US, AU, and New Zealand customers).

Do I need an account to place an order?

Yes, you will need to create an account to place an order with us. It's completely free and easy to get started. You can create your account here or simply during the checkout process.

Make sure you are on the right website by checking the country of the website before you create or place your order.

For new websites (USA, AU, New Zealand), you can place an order without creating an account. However, it is advisable to create one.

Can I get my design in black and white?

Currently, we don't have an automatic feature to convert your design to black and white. However, you can easily do this using any photo editing app on your phone or computer. Once you've edited your image to black and white, simply upload it to our platform to complete your design.

Do you print regular photos?

If you are referring to a photo that will be printed on photo paper, unfortunately, this option is not yet available. However, you can choose from various other products available on our website such as Posters, Canvas, Acrylic prints, Aluminum prints, and many more.

Can I transfer my existing design to a different product?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer your existing design to a different product. If you want to order another product, you will need to create it again from scratch and select the desired product.

Do you have an actual store or a physical store?

While we don’t have a physical store or pickup option from our print houses, we ensure that your order will be conveniently delivered through our trusted shipping provider.

When I upload an image, the quality of the image changes and becomes darker. Why is that happening?

When you upload images that are either too dark or too bright to our website, our system automatically adjusts them. This can sometimes result in inconsistent colors in your picture. If you encounter this issue, please connect with our live agent in chat. Simply click "connect to agent" after the bot response.

If I send you the design, are you able to print my order?

Optimalprint is a self-service platform, and unfortunately, it is not possible to print your design without creating an order and uploading your design on the website. However, if you are having trouble and require help to create an order, feel free to reach us through our live chat or via email at [email protected]. If you are already in chat, please click or type "connect to an agent" after interacting with our chatbot and a live agent will further assist you.

I need to make changes to the order I placed

Once the order is placed, we are unable to make any edits or changes. However, you can cancel the order within 30 minutes of placing it and then place a new order with the desired changes. Please note that cancellations are only possible before the order goes into production.

Checking Express Delivery Options Before Completing Your Order

We understand the importance of fast delivery. Unfortunately, we can't expedite an order once it's placed.

For future orders, you can easily check if express delivery is available:

  1. Create a Dummy Order: Start customizing the product you want to order and add it to your basket without finishing the customization.

  2. Check if Express is Available: If express delivery is listed, you can then finish customizing your order in the basket.

This way, you'll know if express delivery is an option without spending time on a full order.

Thank you for your understanding!

Can you help me with printing my own invitation design?

Yes, you can definitely create invitations using your own design at Optimalprint. We're a self-service platform, making it easy for you to create your own invitations. You can use the "Create Your Own Card" feature available on our website to bring your design to life.

If you can't find the "Create Your Own Card" option, it's likely because you're on our new website, which currently doesn't support this feature as we're working to improve it. To access our old website and use the "Create Your Own Card" feature, simply type "Old website" here in chat to access the Legacy website.

We hope this helps you create the perfect invitation!

What is the delivery time frame?/How long does it take to be delivered?

The estimated delivery date for your order depends on several factors, including the type of products, the delivery address, and the quantity of items ordered.

We recommend checking the estimated delivery date during checkout for the most accurate information.

Additionally, you can try creating an order without finishing the design and adding it to your basket. This way, you'll be able to check the estimated delivery date even without personalizing the product, saving you time.

Why is it showing flat (no inside)?

If you see "Flat no inside" while reviewing your order and the product you ordered is not a card, don't worry—this is simply a labeling glitch on the website. Your order will still be printed correctly. To ensure everything is as expected, please double-check your order during the editing process or in your basket by clicking the thumbnail of your order to check the preview before finalizing your purchase. For reference, "Flat no inside" typically refers to cards, indicating that the card is not folded.
