Why is the color different from my previous order?

The colors of the designs can change from one order to another depending on the following factors:

- Printing partner we use to print your order (this is done automatically and we cannot influence which printing partner will be used)

- Paper supplier change (if the paper supplier is changed, the colors can be influenced)

- Ink supplier used (if our printing partner changes ink suppliers, the colors can differ)

- Apparel supplier

If you wish to order multiple types of cards, for example for a wedding, we suggest placing them all in one order so they are printed with the same Printing partner at the same time. If you place an order after the original order, we cannot guarantee the same colors will be printed.

Why does my print have a different color than the image I uploaded?

We try to print as close as possible to the original colour, but many factors can influence this.

Sometimes the image colour from the online version can differ from the printed version, depending on the screen settings and colour profile of the image. You can check on multiple screens to see if there is any colour difference and then check the screen settings.

If your product was printed with a slightly different colour than the photo you uploaded, this is most likely due to the colour profile of the image uploaded. The best colour profile is CMYK for accurate colour reproduction. There are multiple CMYK colour profile, however we use CMYK GRACoL 2006.

NOTE: If you upload a file with a different colour profile like RGB, we will always convert it to the closest similar one in CMYK values

  • CMYK – colour model used in printing, the letters stand for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (black). Our print machines have therefore 4 ink cartridges with these colours and when printing, we first apply one colour, after that the second, third and fourth cartridges are applied in press run, one after the other.

  • For Black and Grey tones: We recommend using solid colours (one channel colour, e.g. C0 M0 Y0 K70)

  • For Rich black: Preferred mixture 60 60 60 100 – total 280 for large elements and texts

Why is my image is too dark?

Sometimes photos can look brighter on a computer, tablet or phone screen than in print (depending on your screen brightness setting). Please use images that look bright even if you turn down your screen brightness. We do not brighten photos automatically or manually. You can brighten photos using Photoshop or other online photo editing tools. If you have already received printed cards and the photos are too dark, please contact us and we will assist you further.

Why is my photo is blurry or pixelated?

Blurry photo

If your photo is printed as blurry, then it is likely due to that the original photo was blurry. Blurriness is not always easy to see – but you can by zooming in. If the image becomes exceedingly fuzzy, then it is likely a blurry photo.

Unfortunately, with blurry photos, it is little you, or we can do to fix the image. The best option is to replace the photo with another photo with a higher resolution and DPI.

Pixelated photo

To ensure the best result, we recommend that your photos have 300 DPI for the size of the print. Photos with a range of 150-300 DPI will most often print with good quality, while photos with less than 150 DPI or much more than 300 DPI will be bad quality prints. Always ensure that you select the highest resolution versions of a photo you have.

TIP: If are not sure where to find the resolution and DPI of a photo, here is how to do it:

  • iOS Mac users: Right-click the image or hit Control and click. Then, select Get Info from the context menu. You will then see a small pop-up window containing all the information about the picture.

  • iOS Mobile devices: Long press on the photo to pop up the action menu and choose Info from the menu list. You will then open the detailed information about the selected image file, including file format, size, dimensions, camera, device, DPI, etc.

  • PC with Windows users: Right-click on the image, left click on Proprieties, then left click on Details. There you will see all the information about the picture.

  • Android phone users: On the desired image, click the 3 vertical dots representing the options, then choose details

Note that apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Instagram, and Facebook all compress your photos, so the photo might like good on your screen, but it will not always print well.

If it is a friend who has sent you the photo, please ask the friend to send you the file via email, Google Photos or Dropbox as those services don't compress the files.

Also, make sure that all the subjects are well-lit in your photo. Natural light is the best option but otherwise, secure that the brightness of the image is high.
Watch for movement in the photo, especially with babies, since motion captured in a photo will appear as a blur which is not always detectable in resolution.
