Unequaled quality is important to all of us and we have carefully chosen to partner with some of the world’s leading clothing brands, who deliver consistent, superior quality.

  • When we say organic, what is the source of this? Organic cotton is farmed naturally, avoiding harmful pesticides and other chemicals. This process is safer and cleaner for the environment. Being organic means organic agriculture is not exposing our people, soil, air and water to these harsh chemicals.

  • What certifications do you have? Our organic cotton collection is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton. This is an independent certificate for our entire supply chain. GOTS is recognized as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.

  • Why is Organic more expensive? There are a few reasons why there seems to be a premium on the cost of Organic products. Demand for products and supply of fabric is still low, so manufacturing is only limited. Manufacturers who are serious about adhering to high ethical and organic standards pay extra for licensing and certification and the right to use logos such as GOTS, OekoTex and IVN Best. This sets their products at a premium.

  • Why should I buy Organic cotton?
    - Soft, breathable, and comfortable to wear vis a vis synthetic fabrics.
    - Hypoallergenic: safer for sensitive skin, since it is devoid of toxic chemicals.
    - Better for the planet and safer for the farmer’s health.

  • Is the paint utilized for printing also eco-friendly? Yes, the technology used for printing is the same as all of our cotton-based or high-cotton content products: direct-to-garment (DTG), which utilizes water-based ink.

  • Are your organic cotton products vegan-friendly? Yes, all our products are PETA Approved vegan friendly.

  • What materials do you use for your organic cotton range? We handpick every single fabric based on its environmental footprint and lifetime durability. We only ever use Class A and B fibers and as we go we’ll only ever look for the most responsible fabric material and technology available. That means natural, renewable, recycled, biodegradable and or low-impact textiles only.

  • How are your organic cotton products produced and shipped? All our products are made with responsibly sourced and sustainable materials. We continuously work to make our value chain even more sustainable by setting high requirements, following up and developing our suppliers. All print partners have signed Gelato´s Supplier Code of Conduct. We carefully select each print and logistics partner in our network. We do not choose them based on price, but on their production excellence and professionalism.

  • Does organic cotton last longer? Organic cotton also seems to be more durable than regular cotton. Organic cotton fibers are longer and they have a stronger connection with each other.

  • Do I need to wash or care for my organic cotton clothing any differently? No, same as for conventional cotton. Follow these care instructions:
    - For the first wash, it is best to use cold wash or maximum 30°C water temperature.
    - Use a normal or mild detergent.
    - Wash inside out.
    - Wash with similar colors.
    - Preferable air dry or tumble dry - low heat.
    - Can be ironed at medium temperature.

  • Will print quality be different on organic cotton? No, print quality will be the same as in conventional cotton. Water-based inks can provide the optimal finish for your print in all our organic clothing range.
